Tax Investigation has conducted on-site inspections in 4170 entities, with a penalty amount reaching to approximately ALL 45 million

The Tax Investigation Directorate concluded the implementation of the plan of measures for October, which aimed at preventing, raising awareness, identifying and fighting illegal practices in the area of taxation.

The specialized structures of the Tax Investigation conducted inspections in 4170 entities, out of which 1422 resulted in violation. The amount of penalties imposed to these entities is around ALL 45 million.

Below you will find the key ones:

• the premises have been seized in 18 taxpayers for 30 calendar days for failure to issue a tax coupon (second time). Also, the premises of 6 taxpayers have been seized for failure to install the fiscal equipment (second time);
• 335 taxpayers have resulted in violation of their obligation to issue a tax coupon (first time);
• 344 taxpayers have resulted in goods possessed without the proper tax documentation;
• 163 taxpayers have been penalized for failure to declare their employees, whereby 32 fall under the tax liability of “small business” and 131 entities fall under the tax liability of “large business”;
• 106 taxpayers have resulted as non-registered in the Tax Authorities, whose activity has been seized till the moment of their registration as a VAT entity;
• 74 taxpayers had not installed fiscal equipment and 81 did not keep them in operation.

The operation plan has been implemented in those entities that conduct their economic activities in the urban centres of: Tirana, Fier, Durres, Elbasan, Korça, Shkodra, Berat, Lezha, Gjirokastra, Vlora, Kukes, Dibra, Saranda, as well as in the fuel stations throughout the country. 

The Tax Authority main aim is to raise awareness and educate taxpayers to enhance self-declaration, as well as to correctly comply with all tax liabilities.
