Conclusive meeting with the technical assistance Mission of the International Monetary Fund

The General Director of Taxes, Mrs. Vasilika Vjero, held on Thursday the conclusive meeting with the representatives of the technical assistance mission of the International Monetary Fund. In this meeting, Mrs. Vjero expressed her gratitude for its cooperation and assistance and highlighted that the technical assistance of IMF is always welcomed to overcome challenges faced by the Albanian Tax Administration.

The representatives of IMF appreciated the cooperation along the two weeks of stay in the Albanian Tax Administration, where they got closely acquainted with the organizational structure and where they held meetings with directors and experts of the Albanian Tax Administration. The IMF Mission headed by Mr. Allan Jensen, stated that there are a couple of changes observed related to the strategy of the General Directorate of Taxes, communication with taxpayers and good governance of human resources. Some recommendations were delivered in the final meeting that will be further detailed in a special report in order to help the General Directorate of Taxes in facilitating the efforts to further strengthen the Tax Administration.
