Ilir Binaj, Director General of the GDT (General Directorate of Taxation)
Ilir Binaj was born in Durrës on 23 February 1976. Since October 2024, Mr. Binaj has held the position of Director General of the GDT.
Prior to this position, Mr. Binaj has had a long experience in the field of auditing and taxation, where for more than 15 years he has held positions as a manager in various international companies.
Mr. Binaj is certified as a Public Auditor in California (CPA), as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) in the United Kingdom, and as a Statutory Auditor in Albania.
Mr. Binaj completed his higher education at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics, majoring in Finance in 2002, while he completed his Master’s studies in “Business Administration” at Dallas Baptist University, USA, in 2009.
Additionally, Mr. Binaj holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Accounting and Taxation from the Texas University.
Mr. Binaj is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is certified for services in the detection of financial fraud and business valuation.
